MOTM, 1 goal (match-winner) and 3 BCC. The conditions were obviously easy today, but anyone with a functioning brain can see he’s still among the best in the world, and Slot is the one misusing him and holding him back

This isn’t the worst showing from Liverpool this season, but it’s genuinely horrifying how we’ve gone from Champions to a side that is scared to attack because we concede 3-4 a game when we do so. Makes for some awful football, and makes us look pathetic, TBH.

64 minutes played. • 1 assist. • 2 big chances created. • 1 big chance missed. • 5 duels and tackles won. Bad pass at the end after running half the pitch and fatigue setting in. Watch the response to this performance closely. In the face of criticism, it was brilliant.
The most overlooked pro-Salah argument is that nobody can offer me another time in football history where a player of Mo’s calibre was benched 3x in a row and DNP’d twice that fits this criteria: • No recent injuries • No attitude problems • Within a year of their prime

With that assist for Hugo… 🅰️ Mo now has the most goal involvements for a single club in Premier League history 👏

• Salah being benched was unprecedented. • Liverpool’s form is unprecedented. • Liverpool’s summer spending is unprecedented. • Salah’s supposed ‘drop-off’ is unprecedented. Everything points to a managerial/hierarchal issue that people label as ‘conspiracy’.

It’s an incredibly simple point & criteria that anyone should be able to counter when they bring up the “he was only benched for a week!” argument. If this was a normal thing for a superstar to face under those simple conditions, then there’d be many equivalences, right?

“They will remember the time you said no and forget all the times you said yes” Salah would join the Egypt AFCON camp late in order to reduce the amount of games missed for Liverpool but the one time he voices out his grievances, he’s told to put club’s interests ahead of his.
🚨🗣️𝗡𝗘𝗪: Thierry Henry on Mohamed Salah's comments: "I had problems with Wenger, with Guardiola… Have you ever heard me talk about it publicly? NEVER. I protected the club." "When you play for a club, you must protect it at all costs. No matter what’s happening internally,

Nowhere near as explicit as Salah, but imagine if Mo had stopped in the mix zone and said something like: “I’m not happy on the bench, and I think back to when Roma played me in my preferred position. I miss it.” Carra would have still ripped him a new arsehole lol

“If you ask a CF to play on the wing, he will do his best. But he won’t be as efficient. I am happy, but you’re never happy when it’s not what you were expecting.” Then a 7 minute rant about how much he misses Arsenal before Barca played a CL semi 😭 https://t.co/k6qQJQISYi

Arne Slot sacrificed Mohamed Salah, and by extension the entire Liverpool attack, to shore things up. Short-term pain and no long-term benefit to this approach, a look for @Squawka.

A tactical analysis of Arne Slot's decision to bench Liverpool star Mo Salah, who made his feelings clear in an explosive post-match rant.

First article I’ve read in the media about this Salah stuff that’s on the right side of history. Respect, FourFourTwo. https://t.co/zKK0mLvFvy

There is no doubt Mohamed Salah has been scapegoated by Liverpool and his manager this season

“Anyone can get benched, even Salah!” Then why can’t anyone play? You know, guys like Endo who probably have bench lines imprinted into their arse cheeks? They won’t bring this up, because they know it supports Salah’s point that there isn’t a meritocracy at Liverpool.

Same guy who advocates for a meritocracy at Liverpool (backing our billionaire owners over Salah) is a complete hypocrite. A meritocracy isn’t about bringing in players who meet your standards. It’s opportunity for all. Endo can and has played CB. Why not him?

Salah's xG has halved and his shot volume has taken a significant hit this season. Nothing to do with his legs, that. Everything to do with the system.
