One month since I left Zambia.. Still adjusting to new surroundings..

I am appalled by the shocking scenes at President Trump's rally and we send him and his family our best wishes. Political violence in any form has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack.

Tonight, in his first few hours as Prime Minister, @Keir_Starmer has spoken to allies and partners across the world. The UK stands ready to continue to work with them to deliver security and growth at home and abroad.

Pleased as I exit that political opposition was able to exercise right to assemble peacefully. I hope this can continue. Steps to embed democratic norms, alongside economic reform & investment in social development, will be core to Zambia's future & the enduring 🇿🇲🇬🇧 partnership.

My final night in Lusaka was spent with former & current Ministers plus Zambians from other walks of life. This is what I'll remember most about Zambia: unity, grace, kindness, warmth. However tough life gets, however divisive the political rhetoric.. One Zambia, One Nation🇿🇲 1/2

Held discussions with Alex Garrard from Amia Capital, one of the reps of our Eurobond Holders, who last month, voted in favour of restructuring our 3 Eurobonds, effectively giving 🇿🇲 more headroom on our fiscal space. We encouraged Amia Capital to continue investing in #Zambia.🇿🇲
