Introduced @JohnDeere's semi-autonomous Gator to undergrad students at @NDSU. Most of the students already had an hands-on-experience driving it manually. However, they enjoyed and learnt so much about the semi-autonomous feature. Two problems we faced while driving were:.(a)

I cannot agree more! We need some levels of foundational research ("first-principal thinking") rather than just the metrics!!!.
Cannot agree more. The rapid development of opensource software, public benchmarks and growing computational resources definitely contribute to the growth of the field as a whole, by allowing fast iteration, but also they may detract from deeper, first-principle thinking.

I'm deeply saddened by the passing of Sheldon Tuscherer. He was a research specialist at @NDSU's @aben_ndsu, and would always stop by to say a hello and even ask how I was doing? I still remember our very first conversation back in 2019. Praying for his departed soul. Ecc. 3:20.

Had an amazing two-day event at the @TheGrandFarm, ND. Interacted with the industry and higher-education professionals. We had some folks from the @universityofga, including Dr. Place @nplace01. The Grand Farm is collaborating with the UofGA to advance precision ag. research.
