Goreing 20s at Knotts Scary Farm may be a "scare zone", but it also ranks among my favorite immersive productions. A joyous, playful romp, with a story expanded in its adjacent maze. I can't wait to guzzle the devil's elixir once again next season. Bravo to all involved.

In 1999, THE PHANTOM MENACE embarked on maybe the biggest movie promotional tour of all time, including a deal with Pizza Hut / Taco Bell / KFC. They worked with Greg Hildebrandt (yes, that Greg Hildebrandt) on concept art for their commercials and now I own one of those pieces.

I saw guys collapse in the aisle, head in hands, weeping. I couldn't believe it. I like Batman, but I didn't realize how much he meant to people until that day. (Related: Matt Reeves is the only director I've seen personally thank everyone as they leave, shaking hands.)

When the studio rep stood at the front of the theater and announced we'd be seeing an unfinished cut of "The Batman", the crowd erupted in a way I've never seen at one of these. People didn't just clap and scream, they stood up out of their seats.

I did not know today was Batman's day, but here's a Batman story: I saw a test screening of The Batman on the WB lot, but they didn't tell anyone what movie they'd be seeing beforehand. (I love blind box cinema, and it only occasionally bites me in the butt.)

One year ago today, we boarded the Halcyon Starcruiser for the last time. My heart still sinks when I remember it's no longer welcoming guests to wade in the waters of play at depths no one else has dared to offer. There are many myths to be busted, but that's for another day.

Seeing a version of the show that was intended to run nightly in Galaxy's Edge is bittersweet on the eve of massive cuts to the cast members who bring it alive every day. (If you love playing games like sabacc with local Batuuans, you may want to visit before this Sunday.)
