New: Detroit mayoral candidate Mary Sheffield has considerably outraised her fellow declared candidates, having nearly $468,000 cash on hand for her campaign as of the end of December. That's more than three times larger than her nearest rival's war chest. (Link in reply)

AOC says "rivers were on fire" because of corporations like Deloitte "pouring chemicals" into waterways. Deloitte is an accounting, consulting, and tax services firm. No idea what she's talking about.

Here’s Kinloch following up on this statement about where he stands on sending troops to Detroit: “We can always partner with law enforcement agencies in order to assist… But not to police and patrol our communities.”
Kinloch on sending troops to Detroit: "Not in a martial law fashion, but in collaboration, in order to make sure that we're protecting soft spots throughout the city of Detroit — we have a problem."
