In 2014, I said I wanted to be judged by one thing, is the population in Detroit increasing? For the first time since 1957, the population in Detroit is officially growing again. I have done what I set out to do. Thank you to my staff and the great people of the City of Detroit.

Last night's epic game showed us all that the Detroit Tigers are one of the most talented and toughest teams in the league. To take the Mariners to 15 innings in the deciding game - in Seattle - shows the toughness and heart this team has.  Congratulations on a great season.

Detroit believed in itself, in discipline, in resilience, and in its people. The comeback is real, and it’s only getting stronger. The story isn’t finished, it’s still being written. Detroit is a city of progress.

Even though it may not feel like it when our community suffers a loss of one of our neighbors, Detroit is once again seeing a significant reduction in violent crime.

Ms. Kim calls it "a whole new world" and I couldn't agree more. With more than 8,000 homes demolished under Proposal N, Detroit neighborhoods are safer, stronger, and full of opportunity. Together, we're turning every block into a place to thrive. #DetroitinAction

Detroit has invested $10 million into Community Violence Intervention (CVI) groups, because safety and trust start with the people who know their neighborhoods best. These leaders live here. They know the people. And most importantly, they never give up on their community. By

We're investing in what works. Trusted CVI groups are in our neighborhoods, standing with residents to prevent violence and save lives. Because of this work, Detroit is seeing another 15% drop in homicides in 2025. We're building safer, stronger neighborhoods together. 💙
