In my many years of human rights work, when a person goes missing in K'la, the first place to check is the basement of Block C of the Chieftaincy of Military Inteligence. I've recorded many gory stories of survivors of that secretive dungeon. A one Capt. Okumu is in charge of it

Where are you going, my neighbour asked this morning. To work, I replied. But your permit was suspended, he continued. Yes, I retorted. What's suspended is a piece of paper, not my mind. I'll go on giving my service to those who need it, I concluded. We laughed & went our way.

Museveni’s entire political career has been built on the thesis that the post-independent Uganda political problems were caused by sectarian politics. He has called traditional leaders and post-independent political leaders all manners of derogatory names. Is this thesis rally…

Their admirable public personas aside, you even admire them more as a family when you have a personal encounter with the ‘First Family’ @HEBobiwine

This is succinct. It should help those either confused or deliberately obtuse about the Black Lives Matter Movement. Do not be gone deaf folks to this serious issue.

I came to Harvard under less than ideal circumstances & soon after charges against me were withdrawn but to suggest, as some have, that 'I've run away, 'fled the country, or 'seeking asylum' is preposterous. Please regard them as falsehoods. I'll return home after my Fellowship

We all have things that outrage us. For me, no apologies, I feel stronger about innocent unarmed mothers, children & young people shot dead at point-blank range by the security forces than towards a security official beaten with a hammer or a car whose windscreen is damaged

If, as I’ve read online, @nyamadon is succeeding @rkabushenga at @newvisionwire as its CEO, we first must congratulate him. But then promptly ask whether he’s being appointed to spite @rkabushenga . Social media handler for @KagutaMuseveni , yes. CEO? The jury’s out on this one.

A one Nyeko Andrew seen here in the picture was the medical personnel in the ambulance that abducted Bobi Wine at the airport last night. He looked on when Bobi was being slapped & beaten by his captors inside the ambulance. We will pursue this to the end

When was the last time Uganda’s president came to the US? What sort of reception is he going to get in the face of accusation of brutality & gross abuse of human rights? Is this a test of the US’ commitment to its stated values? Will the US govt confront him about his records?

The #KyarengaConcert song that got the crowd asking for encore and many talking long after the concert. I do not speak the King’s language (Luganda) but got the song humming in my head

The people of Rwenzori & indeed all countrymen & women will recall the brazen act of wanton & revenge killing by the Ugandan army in Kasese in Nov. of 2016. In this shot, a cultural institution is burnt down in a needless highhandedness. Remember this when casting your votes

I’ve represented many NUP leaders & supporters when their rights are infringed but I think this hate-ladened online trolls & vitriol of anyone you disagree with is tactless & alienating. I’ve suffered it & now see a sustained pattern of the same against the Chief Justice

The president must promote the commandant of the Kasese killings Gen Elwelu to the highest level if he can’t hold him to account. The higher he is, the easier it is to hold him to account. We will not, must not forget the 2017 killings in Kasese
