Today @Rawiri_Waititi and @whaeadeb announced our policy to remove GST from kai as Aotearoa experiences the worst cost of living crisis in generations. Food is a right and a necessity. Getting rid of GST on food should be a no-brainer.

Te Pāti Māori does not support the proposed emissions budgets. We met with Minister Shaw and made clear that Aotearoa needs more urgent action on reducing emissions. We are well past time for inaction. Well past time for delay. The time is now. @whaeadeb

We have consistently called for funding to support the transition to regenerative agriculture. But we don't need a new research centre, we know what works - price methane immediately, phase out nitrogen fertilisers, cut herd sizes. Let's get on with it.

Aotearoa must decriminalise cannabis and wipe the slate on low level drug convictions, which would help people seek treatment for drug abuse without fear of the law and enable them to fully participate in society.

. @Rawiri_Waititi has accused Govt of being ‘soft on crime’ for their failure to address the drivers of crime in their package to curb gang violence. "This package completely fails to address the deeper issues that lead to violence. Soft on Poverty means Soft on Crime."

We are closer to restoring our mana motuhake than ever before. A new generation of Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti are uniting to create an Aotearoa hou, to realise the Te Tiriti-based nation in the South Pacific that our tupuna signed up to. Ka whawhai tonu.
