Karolina Muchova has overcome so many injury setbacks in her career—thus, it is even sweeter to finally witness her win her second title and first WTA 1000, defeating Victoria Mboko 6-4, 7-5. She's been a runner-up twice at 1000 level but gave herself another chance this week

A long time coming. Muchova finally gets a title that matches her talent. An incredible shot maker and tennis player. Finally healthy and playing like she always could.

Karolina Muchova is the ultimate disruptor this season. Stops a red hot Mboko in her tracks with some assured, confident tennis done in magnificent style to win a long awaited big title in Doha. Given she also beat eventual AO champ Rybakina in Brisbane she is a dangerous draw

Glad I made time to watch back Mboko v Rybakina To see a match with consistent clean hitting from both players is a joy to watch. Mboko is playing such a good level in Doha, has to be the favourite! Rybakina's many high quality matches show she's the standard setter right now

Doha semifinals feature none of Sabalenka, ÅšwiÄ…tek, Gauff, Pegula, or Rybakina, the first WTA 1000 event as such with at least one of them participating since Cincinnati 2021.

When I watch Iga play post 2024, I actually do see someone who knows and is definitely trying to add new elements to her game because she knows that’s the only way to compete with this current tour. The 2022-24 Iga style isn’t going to dominate with how much her rivals have

Jack Pinnington Jones is on a mission. Gets through qualifying and is now in the Quarterfinals of the Dallas Open after winning the rematch of the 2024 National Championships against Eliot Spizzirri. Thr TCU fans were out, loud and proud. Cilic up next. 👀 #DALOpen

Victoria Mboko plays an EXCELLENT match to eliminate AO champ Elena Rybakina 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 in Doha. Mboko recovered from 3-5 down in the first set and 2-4 down in the third. She's ONE match away from a top-10 debut (would also clinch with a Muchova QF loss)

People have been like "Middle east swing is boring" or "players should skip this swing more," meanwhile we've already had at least three MOTY contenders in 2 weeks: Doha: Elena Rybakina vs Zheng Qinwen Victoria Mboko vs Mirra Andreeva Abu Dhabi: Alex Eala vs Aliaksandra

We have waited 3 seasons for dropshots, slices, net play. They're here finally! Say what you will about this loss, but she's a lot braver than the armchair coaches/psy/fans here on tt.

Ostapenko - 1st 1000 title and biggest since RG 2017 Mboko - 2nd 1000 title at 19yo Sakkari - 2nd 1000 title (1st since 2023) Muchova - 2nd career title and 1st above 250 level Kalinskaya - 1st *tour-level* title One of them will win Doha and it will always be a great story.

Every great has bad losses and down periods, what makes them great is how they bounce back. Iga has always bounced back, just like she’ll do this time.

Have to feel good for Maria Sakkari who's had a pretty miserable last 18 months on tour...Gets first win in her career over a No. 1 seed in Swiatek to reach Semi Finals in Doha... Her first Semi since Charleston in Apr 2024! #WTA

Iga Swiatek has been the greatest frontrunner ever in WTA 1000s Her INSANE streak of being 109-0 in completed tennis matches after winning the first set at the WTA 1000 level has officially been snapped by Maria Sakkari Iga lead 6-2 4-4*(Had 2 break points to serve for the win)

Ultimately this loss does not matter much for Rybakina considering how much she's won lately but will be tough to have lost a 5-3 lead in the opening set to lose it 5-7 and a 4-2 lead in the final set to have lost it 4-6. Great win for Mboko though.

Another fantastic match in Doha as Elena Rybakina fends off a resurgent Zheng Qinwen Rybakina is finding ways to win in a brilliant start to the season! Dealt with Zheng's offense well and came up with a bigger game. Will be interesting to see how much she has in the tank.

Just getting caught up. Wow, Andreeva vs Mboko was really good! They both pushed each other really hard but Mboko prevailed! I knew the match in Adelaide was not a real indication of this matchup. Can’t wait to see future battles!
