Quite shocking to see Svitolina make 41 unforced errors and serve below 50% first serves. It was a really uncharacteristic error-strewn performance. She’s usually consistent and quite reliable. Was a big favorite in this one. Frustration with a racquet smash at the end after MP.
🇭🇺ANNA BONDAR gets the biggest win of her career . Takes out #15 and 2019 US Open Semifinalist Elina Svitolina 6-2 6-4. 13/18 net points won.20 Winners.Broke 4 times. Had lost to Svitolina in both RG and Wimbledon this year. Earliest loss for Elina in a major since 2018 Wimbledon

Renata is playing great tennis the last few weeks and she did push Rybakina to 7-5 in the third in Cincinnati, but this was a rough watch from Keys’ perspective. 14 double faults and 89 unforced errors. Struggled to handle the slice mixed in with high heavier loopers.
🇲🇽RENATA ZARAZUA pulls off the best win of her career in the 1st round of the U.S. Open. 6-7(10) 7-6(2) 7-5 vs Madison Keys. Keys lead 7-6 3-0 30-30*. Zaraxua was her crafty clever self who got a lot of balls back, and never quit. Keys hit 89 unforced errors which is far too many

When healthy and with a few matches under her belt, Barbora Krejcikova can beat absolutely anybody in the world and win any tournament. Her variety and use of slices in this match was so smart. So skilled. The game and mechanics are so smooth in full flow.
MIGHTY IMPRESSIVE BARBORA KREJCIKOVA. 6-3 6-2 vs Montreal Champion Victoria Mboko. 9/11 net points won, 17 winners.Confident, assertive tennis.Looking like a contender here 👀. Mboko clearly still struggling with her wrist that flared up in the Montreal SF

Bonzi has now beaten Medvedev at RG, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open. Feels like poetic justice Bonzi won & did so without a first serve in the 5th and being injured. Medvedev behaved appallingly, but in the end it couldn’t hide the fact that his game is a shadow of what it used to be.
BONZI DEFEATS MEDVEDEV. 6-3 7-5 6-7(3) 0-6 6-4 . WILD STUFF with Bonzi serving for straight set win and a MP, followed by a 6 min delay with photographer coming on court between 1st/2nd serve (Daniil incites crowd). Bonzi wins in the 5th from a break down.

Novak said not on my watch!. 2 hrs 25 minutes. Tien had his moments and chances in the second set, didn’t play a good tiebreak & holding serve was a constant battle. Djokovic too experienced at dealing with his physical woes and navigating out of those sticky situations.
My prediction for Novak Djokovic vs Learner Tien is that the total match time will be a minimum of three hours.

Gotta be honest, that final set tiebreak was amazing tennis. Over half the points were winners from both players. High quality stuff.
ALEXANDRA EALA TAKE A BOW 🇵🇭. Making history for her country every week!!. Wins a really high quality battle vs an in-form Clara Tauson. 6-3 2-6 7-6 (13-11) on her 5th MATCH POINT. Trailed 1-5 in the third set. Incredible scenes and 8,000 fans going wild 🙌

I’ve always kind of known who he was as a player, but I don’t think I actually appreciated the specifics and strengths of his game as much as I have watching him this week. It was a lot of fun. Best I’ve seen Marton play since his Wimbledon 2021 run to the quarters. Going strong!.
Fucsovics after winning @WSOpen🏆. “I’m speechless. I had a long career. This is my third trophy. I’m 33 and a half years old. So I belong to the older generation, but I am still here winning an ATP 250. So I will keep fighting…I’m going to play as long as I can.”. 🎥: ATP Media
