A great method:. - During your day, think about ideas, play with solutions in your head and make a plan (while cleaning, commuting, showering etc). - When you sit in front of the computer, execute that plan (rather than at that time start thinking about what to do.).

This means your web hooks will work exactly the same in your dev and prod environments (as they're built into the same server calling them), and you can have everything contained in a single service. Thanks a lot to @WHinthorn and @__dqbd for making this possible!.
