The most important skill I developed as a digital artist is how to build my projects in a way that I can (nearly) painlessly update EVERYTHING about it, and fast. A major design shift across the board for the 3rd time in 6 weeks you say? Give me 20 minutes.

Whenever you feel threatened by technology just remember that my vacuum can't find its way out of the bathroom. Not once. Not ever. We'll be fine.

Runs off to set this new preference in After Effects and never ever change it again. β’ Maintain workspaces when opening projects from another user.

This whole βyouβre cooked, artistsβ thing is like the equivalent of someone who tried a microwave for the first time saying itβs over for restaurants now. You better quit now all you cooks & chefs and become a plumber because I can make a limp grey salisbury steak in 30 seconds!

Needed some extra repetition to get used to Grease Pencil after finishing the Draw course from @cgcookie , so here we are... 3 quirky pet portraits. Like everyone else, we have the best dogs in the world! Had a lot of fun making these... β‘οΈ β¨ π«§ #b3d #greasepencil

90% of motion design and animating is googling how to do stuff, then banging your head against your desk trying to figure out why it's not working.

AI tools are 100% useful to help you debug and troubleshoot, but 9/10 times you need to take it by the hand like a little toddler and explain EXACTLY what you need. Without the underlying knowledge that is nearly impossible. Learn the basics folks!

I made the add-on to improve my workflow after following @cgcookie 's UTILITY course and I can't recommend it enough! A lot of people think tools like chatGPT are all you need for something like this, but this project showed me how not true that is... https://t.co/et7zEm4fRT

I made a Blender Add-On that will save you a lot of time if you are a Motion Designer that works with a lot of empties (think Nulls π) I'm submitting it as an extension so it's available for free. If it looks like it can be useful to you, keep an eye out for a link soon!

I'm writing a little #b3d add-on that will automate the empty add and parent workflow. Think of our After Effects "Nulls" scripts. I can't decide on the UX/UI though. When is giving the user options too much? What style do you prefer for options? Checkboxes or dropdowns?

Unpopular opinion: there is a place for AI generated stuff. Our job as artists is to find where to effectively use it in your advantage. It's not going away. I can't stand the aesthetic of 99% of it, and it makes me sad to see family and friends enjoy it. Gotta dig for the 1%

On a 3D/ Motion design break for a couple of weeks. Exploring some new countries and frolicking in winter wonderland. We love the beach weather, but we also miss the beauty of everything covered in snow. I also miss hunting the sunlight and shadows on my #photography.

3D Artists, question: Are you using Topaz Labs in your workflow? If yes, are you using the photo enhance on each image from your sequence, or are you using the video version on the sequence turned into video? Gigapixel? All three? Lay it on me! #motiondesign #b3d #c4d #mograph

Very little known facts. In fact, most people wouldn't believe them. But trust me. It's #facts This is the 1st of a series of animations about the North Pole folk-lore. Yah, they won't all happen before Christmas, so if you have another fact that should totally be animated, LMK!
