Unholy crap! My Vigiliae Christianae article just dropped. I argue that an apparently lost letter of Valentinus–on Jesus's lack of excrement–is preserved in Basil of Caesarea's letter collection. https://t.co/IeteAZZtv2

Somehow even statements with which I agree wholeheartedly become intolerably obnoxious in Milbank's idiom.

Kids these days are all "Plato's dialogues are low-effort faux-dialogues that are just 'yes Socrates' this & 'no Socrates' that." Also kids these days: "Let's all scroll 2 hours of these one-person-plays-two-people TickTalks where they don't even bother changing clothes doy doy"

Received a spectacular Christmas present today: Reinhard Hütter's introductory essay to Lux Patrum's forthcoming edition of John Henry Newman's Arians of the Fourth Century. Excited to get this into print, along with the second volume of Newman's writings on the Fathers.

Lux Patrum is entering exciting new territory! Prof. Richard Fitzpatrick of UT Austin has agree to publish his translation of Euclid's Elements of Geometry with Lux Patrum. Our edition will be the very first Greek-English edition of the work, as far as I know.

Turns out that Jerome was still a contented universalist even in the 390s. I would not describe myself as a universalist, but it is striking that no less than three doctors of the church openly held this position.

Typesetting for Origen's Contra Celsum and Clement's Paedogogus is complete! Very grateful for the efforts of Lux Patrum's outstanding editors, who have made my own workload inestimably lighter. These massive volumes will appear in short order.

"She alone forms the boundary between created and uncreated nature, and no one could come to God except through her and the Mediator born of her. Nor could any of the gifts that come from God be given, be it to angels or men, except through her." -St Gregory Palamas, Hom. 53.37

To all who have asked when Lux Patrum's Latin-English edition of Augustine's De Trinitate will be released, I'm pleased to say that, after much delay, we've just made arrangements with Brepols to use the CCSL Latin text. You can expect the volume to be published by year's end!
