Thank you @southwortha ! This https://t.co/WSqcsqNNOE is an amazing breakdown why the current streaming model doesn't work for artists. MYPIE works on the top of what Spotify already does well - delivering music to users, but we let the fans decide what the artist reward will be.

Game Changer? : Court finds in favour of @FourTet, as @Dominorecordco accept streaming is a license. Congratulations to Kieran & thanks on behalf of Music creators for setting what appears to be a significant precedent & for seeing this through not accepting a settlement.👏🙏👏

I have a bodacious update on my case with @Dominorecordco. They have recognised my original claim, that I should be paid a 50% royalty on streaming and downloads, and that they should be treated as a license rather than the same as a CD or vinyl sale. (1/8)

@MrTomGray DSPs really need to start doing more around micropayments and 'tipping' like Chinese apps do or even something similar to Twitch or Reddit, not sure what they aren't doing more

This is a remarkable settlement and a huge step for so many people with old contracts being exploited like the old world still exists. I hope to see an army of artists now test this further. A collective action? #BrokenRecord

If an artist has hundreds of thousands or millions of streams they should not be worried about paying rent. https://t.co/Gl1TZZ1aRg

50/50 is still not fair imho. It should be 80/20 for the artist! https://t.co/Gl1TZZ1aRg

That feeling when you wrote an article back in 2019 to showcase that "streams x average pay per stream" royalty calculators are just a bad idea And now it's used to source "streams x average pay per streams" royalty calculators
