Creating awareness & fighting injustice. Denied #informedconsent. No one should have to suffer this kind of intimate damage. #perinealpost #hiparthroscopy
Joined March 2021
The 7 February 2012, age 34, was the last time I had an orgasm. It was the night before a hip surgery. It's been over 13 years since this man crushed my clitoris against my pubic bone with a barbaric device called a #PerinealPost. It's an excruciating loss, which still makes me
MY surgeon joking in Oct 2012 about damage caused by the #perinealpost to one of his patients. He states how he proceeded anyway even though he had the wrong sized post. Not all patients recover, some of us are left with devastating permanent sexual dysfunction. #wilfulneglect

@MarkNasia @DrAseemMalhotra Yes, that's right, a non-urgent, elective surgery to improve back pain. I had no idea in my worst nightmares that I would be risking my sexual function. I NEVER would have proceeded had I been given fully informed consent. This was sold to me as a 'simple' key-hole surgery

There are also countless occasions when it's not a 'mistake' it's wilful neglect, or just plain God complex arrogance. To knowingly risk a worse outcome for a patient, having a non-urgent surgery, procedure, or medication, WITHOUT their knowledge and WITHOUT their consent,
"We are taught as doctors—we’re not very good at this. Let’s be honest, okay? […] When it comes to medical mistakes, the way to sustain trust and reduce anger and reduce blame is to admit the mistake." @DrAseemMalhotra on last week’s @MAHA_Action Media Hub."

@cyclamengarden @DrAseemMalhotra Even though it's a 'legal' requirement, it's routinely flouted. Countless patients have been needlessly harmed, with zero consequence to the medical professional. #Mesh #PSSD #PerinealPost #Primodos #Vaccines #BloodContamination #SodiumValproate #Hysteroscopy #Diethylstilbestrol

@cyclamengarden @DrAseemMalhotra It really is. I had no idea this device would be used or that it was known (to the surgeon) to cause intimate crush damage. I would NEVER have proceeded with the non-urgent hip arthroscopy had I been given fully informed consent. It still makes me feel sick. I feel mutilated

@ShylockWesker @mothersuperior7 @DrAseemMalhotra I'm sharing my story to create awareness because I can't bear the thought of someone else being put through the same needless harm: https://t.co/fTfr5w07H3 I've also started a petition to try and bring about change: https://t.co/L8OTsRPU73

Never in a million years did I imagine I would be in this position, let alone telling my intimate story on a public forum but unfortunately the time has come. For the last 25 years I have lived wit…

@Linda53318077 @DrAseemMalhotra It really is. The 'legal' requirement of informed consent is too often flouted. Such needless, avoidable consequences for too many trusting patients. Devastating. Elective care should not result in an entirely new and more distressing injury. https://t.co/L8OTsRPU73

Update the law to ensure informed consent is mandatory before ALL medical and cosmetic surgeries/procedures/treatments, and before prescriptions are written. Legislation must ensure all known risks...

@PSSDNetwork @DrAseemMalhotra @MAHA_Action What will you say to the dead ones? They can't hear you. You failed as a doctor if you did not do your research. What happened to "Do No Harm," is your paycheck more important?
