Yes, I have vision remaining. Not a lot, but if text is enlarged I can read it (though I use a screen reader for convenience). Less than 10% of blind people in the US are completely blind. I have never had peripheral vision and now lack depth perception as well. I am still blind.

What is with people's continuing aversion to masking? I'm currently bedridden in my third week of covid and am type 1 diabetic with kidney and other organ issues. I'm up to date on vaccines but keep being told I'm an idiot for masking when I step outside my apartment.

Diabetes made me confront my own mortality face-to-face starting at 14 years old. But it also taught me, in the instant I was diagnosed, that nothing is guaranteed so it’s important to live each day i have to the absolute fullest. And for that, I am forever grateful. 💙
