Today is your chance to see some awesome looking American Cars driving thru Maldon and down the High Street! Cars will leave Plume School at 4pm and head down the High Street, so be there and get your cameras ready! Then come down to the Museum tomorrow for the main event!

Tomorrow is Halloween and we have Professor Dean doing some spooky science shows as well as science experiments throughout the day, alongside train rides and the model village open! We will even have some real life creepy crawlies with our insect man!

UPDATE: Unfortunately UK Power Networks are cutting our electricity all day on Wednesday 17th July - so the trustees have decided to close the Museum for the day. The Tea Room will also be closed for the day. We will be back to normal operations on Thursday 18th July.

It's Ride London day 🚴♀️which means many roads local to us are closed. The good news is you can still get to us from the Hatfield Peverel direction, so we are open as usual ⚙️and so are the Tea Room 🍰☕️

The Museum closes on 17/12/23 to the public, re-opening for Crank Up & Wassail on 01/01/24 and then closing until re-opening on 07/02/24. The Tea Room will be closed from 17th December until re-opening on 7th February. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

New Museum layout - the ‘Powering Forward’ National Lottery funded project works are nearing completion. The Museum is open and new extension planned for completion for a February 2024 opening!

A reminder that today and this weekend is your last chance to see the Museum before our refurbishment starts. After doors close on Sunday we will remain closed until 4th October. We will still be running events and school holiday activities in our grounds over the Summer months.

Maldon Drama Group is gearing up to perform Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing at the Town Hall, in June - with a 1940s twist.

3/3 A lot will be changing but we are so excited to see the new look Museum and extension, with brand new entrance, reception and gift shop area. Watch this space for updates on how the project is going! The Steam Pump Tea Room will remain open as much as possible during the work

2/3 A full opening date in December when the new extension will be completed will be announced soon. All our events will be going ahead as planned and we will still be open for Half Term this week as normal. We are also planning something for the Summer Holidays in our grounds.
