- for international students. It's such a welcoming space, and that warmth supported so many to share their own ideas and work in open mics, creative writing workshops, symposiums, and with new friends. It's been a privilege to help this year, and to meet so many talented people.

I've had a brilliant summer this year, co-directing and tutoring Scottish Literature at the Scottish Universities' International Summer School, an incredible team of people who pull off a programme of high-quality teaching, author readings, cultural and social events and more -

I owe a huge thank you to @GothicRomancing for sharing my talk, Literary Hauntings in Helen McClory's 'Bitterhall', at last week's Devils and Justified Sinners conference - so grateful to have had a chance to chat about spooky books and Hogg as a spectre for contemporary writers!

Love archives? @louisewelsh00 and I need a research assistant for an intersectional local history project in association with our friends @wcdtgarden PT over 14 weeks, so would suit a doctoral researcher...

We have been lucky enough to offer space today for presentations on subjects including film, literature, linguistics, and art history, and to cover ideas as varied as meat's relationships to caste systems, to the terror of survival cannibalism.

Our first panel, titled ‘Looking at Meat’ and chaired by Gina Lyle (@murielsnark), begins to pull apart key ways in which we observe meat culturally, from how we think about the obfuscation of slaughter to the use of animal bodies in print making.

You could give someone else that gift. If you're not already signed up to a stem cell register and are between 17-55, you can add your details to DKMS, free post them a swab of your mouth, and get added to a log of potential donors. https://t.co/0NprWOWm0W

This past week we've been celebrating my mum's first birthday - she had a stem cell transplant a year ago, so her immune system has just turned one! This transplant, without being overdramatic, saved her life and it was the kind donation of a total stranger.
