Can't follow anymore certain class of techfluencers whose every second post is an abstract criticism about someone / group without telling what or who exactly. Ironically I am keeping this post abstract as well.

My daughter hand-writes her college application essays, then types them up. She plugs them into an “AI detector” like they tell kids to… and every one comes back 80%+ ‘likely AI.’ She’s been writing these all week. She’s frustrated. She’s furious. I don’t blame her.

The Shopify Live Globe is back this Black Friday! And we built a pinball game out of it. It runs at 120fps in a browser with a full 3d environment, physics engine, VR support and more. 👀

Yesterday, we got hit with one of the most aggressive, targeted DDoS attacks we’ve ever seen. A global swarm of IPs. Millions of requests per minute. Even @Cloudflare, @vercel, and invisible CAPTCHA layers were being bypassed. They tried to take us down. For a short window,

idk what led me / my team writing this mess 3-4 years ago for busting cached XHR requests, but seems just 'Cache-Control: no-cache' is enough!? I could swear that the Pragma and Vary are needed, but retesting on old safari and it doesn't seem needed!?

Context: years ago we moved out from beanstalk because it didn't restart a crashed node.. the health check endpoint wasn't working and yet it didn't do what's it was supposed to. So moved to fargate and no such issue has happened for years (yes, we fixed root cause of crash too)

This is great! Finally a simpler fargate (and that isn't unreliable like elastic beanstalk). I've been using fargate for years now and it works so well. https://t.co/gyoswHeI8k
