I’ve been to correctional centers up to 4 times now, One thing I have vowed to do When I get called to the Nigerian Bar is that I’ll make it a point to visit correctional centers to offer legal help to detainees who cannot afford representation. Justice must be accessible.

This is a statutory provision actually. Section 256 of the Evidence Act restricts/excludes the applicability of the Evidence Act to certain courts.
This Ibadan customary court of appeal made a position that I found very weird. I was at the court & we objected to an electronically generated doc. for non-compliance with section 84 of the evidence Act The court was of the view that it’s not bound by Evidence Act O shock mi🤤
