The President of Royal Roads University in Victoria paid tribute to David Flaherty today. #RIP
Dr. David Flaherty’s remarkable contributions to Canadian legal history scholarship cannot be understated. His dedication to academia, philanthropy, and the arts were recognized with a @RoyalRoads Chancellor's Community Recognition Award in 2015. Our deepest condolences.

So saddened to report the passing of my dear friend and mentor, David Flaherty, one of the pioneers of international data protection: the first privacy commissioner of BC; educator; writer; philanthropist; privacy advocate. His contributions will be lasting and immense.

This strikes me as a dangerous precedent. Ottawa is the seat of government. These Canadians can no longer travel to the Parliament building? They didnt storm the Capitol... Seems excessive and I'm not pro-trucker protest.
Reminder: if you attended the illegal protest in February 2022, were charged and have conditions not to be in Ottawa, be advised that you must respect those conditions. If you breach your conditions, you will be arrested and charged.
