The “How He Loves” sloppy wet kiss lyric takes on a new insight when your 5 month old is giving sneak-attack kisses now. This is the life I’ve once prayed for…and I get a three day weekend to get all the kisses she has to give. ☺️

Taking reading class back to how I used to teach in my math class—swapping seats with a student and letting them lead the conversation! Students were so engaged while practicing nouns! @TCBOE @MunfordElem #leadingtheway

This week, students became text detectives 🕵️‍♂️ to become proficient in using context clues. We had fun determining the meaning of academic and domain-specific words and phrases in our OCR text, figurative language, and unknown roots! #workingonmyroar @MunfordElem @AshleyGableEDU

Today, students are judges, looking at author’s claims and reasons. They are determining claims together, and then they are headed back to their seats for an independent @Seesaw assignment. This will in turn help us be better text detectives and argumentative writers.

Practicing Narrative Text-Dependent Writing on @Seesaw! It’s perfect because students can turn the page, highlight text, and type their response in a similar way to the ACAP. @MunfordElem @AshleyGableEDU @clifton_ecs #workingonmyroar

They came in asking when we will get to our book club today! So excited that they are excited, but more excited about the literature they are being exposed to. #workingonourroar

Yesterday, we finished reading The Wild Robot and spent the morning learning in nature. It was cool to see students make connections in real life and see the spark in their eyes when they turn to me to say, “That was like what happened in our book.” That’s what learning is!

Service Club was the best today! We talked about kindness and serving others. We worked with our team to create the longest chain with something kind on each chain. Then, we delivered candy with notes of thankfulness to teachers! @MunfordElem #workingonourroar

We reviewed for the ACAP ELA practice test through a good ole’ game of stinky feet with a basketball twist. Students were engaged and quickly able to give text evidence to support their answers. I’m excited to see their growth. @AshleyGableEDU @MunfordElem #workingonmyroar

🚨Figurative Language Masters Alert 🚨 In Room 105, we are identifying and analyzing figurative language in our independent reading. I can’t go a minute without them telling me about what they found while reading! 😍 #workingonourroar @MunfordElem @AshleyGableEDU

The author’s chair has been signed for the first time this school year! These leaders wrote very compelling argumentative essays and made 100’s on their Gold Assessment. Way to go, lead…I mean AUTHORS! @MunfordElem #leadingtheway

Great things happening in Room 105! Opinion writing, determining the meanings of words with prefixes and suffixes (a need based off of formative assessment), and finding figurative language in our independent reading. We are growing! @MunfordElem #leadingtheway
