We completed our first modelled @thinkSRSD POW cycle. We used our positive self talk each day and were so proud we can write a pared down paragraph in grade 1! We have been practicing sharing about our weekends using the TIDE model orally. #ocsbLiteracy

The grade 1 team did such a lovely job running the first mass of the year. They decorated the gym, learned the songs, and did the readings @StGiannaOCSB

Buddy Reading - Students learned the rules to ensure everyone stays on task. A timer is on the board and we are reading for the whole time. Repeated reading of the same book helps us build fluency. Our buddy helps us read words we are stuck on #ocsbLiteracy

I wear a top hat that says, “Stop. I am working with a student. I will help you in a minute” to remind students to wait if I am working with someone one-on-one. This week they drew pictures of me and many had top hats 🤭
