Today, our teachers were WIGGING out and celebrating our smart cookies' success. We gathered all students, Pre-K to 5th grade, in the cafeteria to recognize their hard work from last year that led to PSE being an A school for the first time!

Not only did our students help to raise money to buy a tracker for this bird, but they also picked the name! Suwannee Scout was successfully captured, tagged, and released on 6/5/2025. Since then, the Avian Research and Conservation Institute has been monitoring its health.

The good news just keeps rolling in for the Parkside Family! You may recall that back in February, during our school's Everglades Week, our students helped raise money to tag a Swallow-tailed Kite. Well, we are proud to introduce you to Suwannee Scout!

Before the PSE's Egg Drop Contest, 3rd graders designed devices to shield raw eggs (astronauts) dropped from a height. Throughout the week, they tested & refined their devices. Yesterday, 3 out of 6 eggs survived. #science @collierschools @ParksideProud @CollierScience
