If these locations are correct then there is a school playground as close to that asbestos 365 days of the year as there is a bonfire for one night. The scandal here is industrial waste left (whether contained/covered) or not in a working class area. Having canvassed. 1/.

Finding the sudden rush of concern over the asbestos found on the Village bonfire site sickening. No-one gave a shiny sh1t 2 days ago. @belfastcc have known about this for 8 years. Who knows what damage has been caused to the people of that community 😡.

Here's the biggest & most impactful difference between the 2 communities in NI. The Catholic middle class community doesn't seem as contemptuous of its own working class whereas ours can't distance itself quickly enough from the communities that spawned their grandparents (1/2).

Seriously if your first concern is about a bonfire (whether for or against) then you are twisted🤦♀️.Your concern should be why Belfast City Council haven't removed this extremely hazardous and dangerous material long before now. Children could've played on this site ffs @Belfastcc.
Belfast City Councillors is about to vote on a proposal to send in contractors to remove the bonfire in south Belfast that’s on the same site as a mound of asbestos. We understand that SDLP, SF, Alliance and Greens are minded to support the proposal.

A lesson learned in customer service. Pity we've no Waitrose in NI. Asked @marksandspencer to donate a few items for a Christmas Hamper in 2023 for a raffle to raise money for a local renal unit. Turned me down as apparently they only donate to their chosen registered charities.
