I’m not in the habit of giving compliments (though God knows I can fish for them), but this moment made me weep. Don’t we all yearn for it? Validation from the Miriams of the world -- rare souls who refuse to suffer fools. A real brick! #GlennClass

Three years after Dame Angela Lansbury turned the bedknob one last time and sailed heavenward on National Coming Out Day, the luminous DIANE KEATON joins her in that great turtleneck emporium in the sky. 💔

Kate and Our Number One Lady have never been in a live-action film together (more’s the pity!), but they were linked to rival adaptations of Zola’s THÉRÈSE RAQUIN. Glennie was to play the aunt, mind. That version was eventually released in 2013 as IN SECRET with Depressica Lange.

In 1968, the second televised Tonys (the first with the medal on its black base), Dame Patricia Routledge won Best Actress in a Musical -- tied with Leslie Uggams, the third (and final) draw in this category. Flanked by fellow champs Bob Goulet, Martin Balsam, and Zoe Caldwell.

Vale Dame Patricia Routledge. Let’s face it, the common thread in our heroines is that none were overnight successes. She was no exception. I feel I’m only starting at an age when others have peaked! Survivor bias, yes, but I find Dame Pat’s example heartening. A great lady. 💐🪣

Try as I might, but there just AREN’T photos of Glenn Close with a decorative gourd. Siggy Weave it is. (Not to be confused with hairpieces in a colander; that’s a wiggy sieve.) She’ll ring in “Jocktober” as the underwear crowd calls it -- or “Locktober” for you Chastity Bonos.

Seemingly, Our Number One Lady Klenn surfaces in the new series of “The Kardashians”. I could’ve sworn that tragic Ryan Murphy “Damages for Slow Learners” thing she and Kim acted in (well, in theory…) had already aired this summer -- and flopped.

This is how you “serve c*nt” -- do the kids still use such epithets? I was born in 1641. A Happy 90th Birthday to Dame JULIE ANDREWS.
