Parent's tone is clearly one of anger. So angry that he/she does not see the BEAUTIFUL correlation between the 2, 1 is geometric, 1 algorithmic. The indignation is THINKING that area model is anything new. It's NOT. If we all could take time to see another view...on everything.

The at-home AP Exams this year will not include any multiple-choice questions, only free-response questions adapted for secure testing at home. They will measure skills that can't be learned from Google or chats with friends. By April 3, we will post the specifics for each exam.

This is a great solution and should not be avoided: 2.5/4 = 5/8. Focus on the scaling and equivalence.

HUGE celebration for Ms. Stefanko at Statesville Middle: 6th graders cemented ideas of balancing equations & equality by + / - quantities from each cup. Kids were INCREDIBLY engaged and now have a CONTEXT to relate algebraic equations back to! @SMartinISS @klcooperiss @swozny
