I absolutely loved Weapons. Great structure and a proper Stephen King-like creepy small-town horror second half. Very funny in places too. The audience in my cinema applauded at the end.

Rewatched 28 Days Later in prep for the new one. A) It’s still brilliant even though B) It looks terrible on a big telly, even though it was supposed to be HD and C) The Walking Dead ripped it off SO much it’s insane.

Watching Fear Below, an Aussie shark film with a twist: it’s set in the 1940s, with a bunch of mobsters trying to retrieve a truck full of stolen bullion from a river. Very original and entertaining although the acting is truly abominable. It’s on VOD.

Met one of my musical heroes, @dannymcnamara from Embrace at an event in Brum last night, where he talked about his 30 years in the music business - and how he’s now writing screenplays. Such a genuine, nice, funny guy. Can’t wait to see Embrace again.

White Lotus fans: Mike White’s previous series, Enlightened, is on NowTV. It’s brilliant. Laura Dern plays a woman at rock bottom who sets out to make a difference. Funny, acerbic and frequently profound. Another Mike Whire masterpiece.

If you haven’t yet tried Your Friends and Neighbours on Apple TV - aka ‘that Jon Hamm thing’ - I’m here to tell you it’s the best thing on telly at the moment. It’s both fun and riveting with a great cast, loads of gorgeous houses and even the soundtrack is pretty great.

I cannot wait for this!
