Dearest bloggers
I organise blog tours for publishers; from the biggest to the tiniest. For authors who’ve written 20+ bestsellers to debut self published authors.
Every. Single. One of them want you to tag them in your positive reviews.
They appreciate your work
#TheTruth
People say that it's 'sad' to have online friends. I can tell you that it is one of the greatest gifts. The fact that people take the time to give support and share their personal stories means so much. If that is sad, then that's a shame. Thank you Twitterati x
Whilst I'm on my Monday morning soapbox; if you didn't enjoy a book .... PLEASE don't say 'don't believe the good reviews' .... that's arrogance. Just because you personally didn't like it, doesn't make those who did liars.
The world is full of different flavours.
My Mum is home.
My lovely Dad has prepared her room. We have palliative care organised.
Tough times ahead, but she is surrounded by our love
#TheBloke
is also home. Staples still in and very sore, but home
Thanks for the love ❤️
8. Book Bloggers don't do this purely for 'free books'. Imagine it takes a couple of days to read a book, then the hours put in to write a review, prepare a blog post and share it far and wide ... all for £7.99? We do it because we love books
If you have read 300 books this year - Hooray
If you have read 3 books this year - Hooray
There's no Book Olympics ...
Read at your leisure and your pace.
Enjoy your books; the only gold medals for reading are in Primary School!
My Uncle died yesterday.
He was on a ventilator he had 2 heart attacks
My lovely Mum is so sad. He died in Ireland. We will watch the funeral online.
When I was growing up, I thought he was Georgie Best. He lived in Manchester and drove a green Ford Capri
RIP Unca James M ❤️
Once more, it’s that time if the year.
So many ‘worst books of the year’ posts.
Just stop it. Stay quiet. It’s been the year from hell. Don’t make it worse for an author. Please
Half way through my
#UgliestKidsOnTheStreet
post as I post this .
#BeBloodyKindToAuthors
As it appears to be
#BashABlogger
time again, I’m just leaving this here.
Book bloggers are NOT paid, we are NOT fake and we are NOT dishonest.
We are REAL READERS. We LOVE books.
Stop slagging us off
Book bloggers are real readers
This past week has featured the worst lows of my life.
I have been comforted and soothed by the book community; authors, publishers, bloggers, Instagram reviewers
We are not divided. We are ALL here for the
#booklove
❤️❤️
I’m tired of people thinking that working from home/working remotely is nor really work, or that we just do a bit here and there between lunching and shopping. It’s really not like that.
Seems I 'should' post reviews of books I hated on my blog. Who wants to read a lot of reviews that say 'this book is nonsense / shit / badly written / full of holes'? Spead the BOOK LOVE I say. I will NOT spread hate. That's for other people, not me.

21 March 1941 - 23 March 2022 💔
Our lovely, funny, tiny Irish Mammy left us this morning.
She was holding Dad’s hand as she left.
Thanks
@Matineegirl
for your constant love and support
Seen so many people say they are NOT buying new books in 2021, and NOT taking part in Blog Tours.
Here's my 2021 pledge
Buy MORE books than ever
Share more
#BookLove
via Blog Tours
That's what I do folks
Been told today, by an author, that I need to ‘up my game’ as a Blog Tour Organiser. How to kick someone when they’re already on the floor. I’m incredibly proud of
#RandomThingsTours
and the bloggers who tour for me. Nobody wanted to read his book. I can’t FORCE people to read!
Every time I’m called a ‘snowflake’; usually by a white middle-aged bloke, I glow a little more inside. If being caring, compassionate, not wanting to offend and hoping for the best in life for us all is being a snowflake, then that’s fine by me
#ProudToBeASnowflake
1) Receiving proof copies of books is an absolute privilege and a joy. I am eternally grateful and know just how fortunate I am.
Sharing pictures of those books is not ‘showing off’. I am saying thank you and showing my gratitude
My little blog is TEN YEARS OLD next month.
I’ll be doing lots and lots of lovely giveaways
Authors, Publishers if I’ve blogged about you. Please join ❤️
#HappyBirthdayRandomThings
Our lovely, precious Mum was cremated this morning.
We looked out at the sunshine and the Spring flowers and listened to The Old Rugged Cross.
She has been loved, and will be missed for ever.
RIP my Mum, my friend, my rock, my forever xx
Book Reviews
Can people stick to reviewing the actual book and stop passively aggressively criticising those people who did enjoy it?
I’m tired of seeing ‘don’t believe the good reviews’
The arrogance of assuming that YOU are right and others aren’t is astonishing
Good night
Being a
#BookBlogger
: the honour of reading pre-publication books; the pleasure in sharing the love of books; the ability to blog when you want to; being part of the awesome book world; talking to authors; talking to publishers;
See these THREE PILES of books?
That’s my stack of 2020 publications, not including the ones I’ve already read.
Please, send me an extra seven days every week 😂😂
Please don't tell me that Blog Tour Organisers shouldn't get paid.
It's a job. A successful Blog Tour takes hours and hours to organise, we begin working on it weeks before and don't stop until the end.
If we worked out our pay per hour, it would be well below the minimum wage.
To all the
#bloggerbashers
out there. Those who say that bloggers don’t influence
Two random followers have just told me that they’ve bought books today because of my reviews!
Stuck that up your ass!
@OrendaBooks
#BookLove
I’ve promised to read and review lots of books for publishers and authors over the next few months.
This may not happen. I may be slow.
Please bear with me.
Sometimes, occasionally, other things come before books ❤️
The MRI Scan was fine! I was there early and all done by 8.30am. It was too loud for music! Thanks for all of the amazing messages and love. Here’s to the end of 2018 - what an utter year of shit 😮
It’s perfectly OK to give up on a book.
It doesn’t mean you’ve failed or that it’s a bad book it means it’s not the book for you
It’s not meant to be a battle or an act of self-flaggellation. It is supposed to be a joyous escape
Just, don’t tell the author, there’s no need
Fact.
I’m 54 years old. I read fiction written by women, for women. I also read fiction written by men.
‘Wimmen’ is not a word. It is, however, an insult, to me and millions of others.
I don’t have solar panels and I don’t cycle to the Co-op
Because the world is a leeetle bit crazy at the moment. I thought I’d do a crazy thing.
I’m putting together a fabulous book goodie parcel and will send to the person who replies with the picture/GIF that is the CRAZIEST!!
Ends 5pm on Friday 6 March 💜💜
Please follow & RT
It’s been a strange couple of days
I’ve decided that I’ll buy a book direct from an Indie Publisher every month.
Give me your recommendations and links please.
To the scrote that stole my Mum's purse today (from her handbag, which was on her knee, whilst she was in her wheelchair)
I wish you a lifetime of pain and unhappiness.
Bastard
3. Whilst book bloggers do receive free ARC copies to review, the majority of them buy 100s of books too. A book blogger is a reader and book lover first.
Do people REALLY want to see me shout about books that I’ve not enjoyed? Why would I want to waste my energy on that? I am tired of people questioning my integrity because I choose to share Book LOVE.
I am the grumpiest
#bookblogger
ever. I post POSITIVE book reviews on my blog. I don’t tell anyone else how to run their blog so just STOP with all the judging. I’m 52, don’t have bunny years in my photo and don’t have a clue what a hufflepuff is. Why are these people bothered??
I’m not going to apologise for continuing to share
#booklove
It’s keeping me sane and is essential for my OWN mental health.
Some people just can’t, at the moment I can. I support everyone’s individual choices
I can’t go to the Hospice and I’m not much good at anything else.
Hey authors.
A little tip form me. It’s really not good form to complain to reviewers about their rating of your books. Especially if the reviewer actually PAID MONEY for that book.
My author
#shitlist
gets longer
#TheBloke
is out of theatre!
Five or so hours but the gallbladder is gone!
He’s OK. Will be in hospital for a couple of days.
What a bloody long day it’s been
Mum is still in hospital but she’s chirpy. 💖

box every day. So far, I have given away 165 books
This was just posted through my letterbox by a random stranger ❤️
Once again, book bloggers who write positive reviews are being slated by other bloggers. I don’t criticise those who post negative reviews, why are they so bothered about positivity? There’s room for all of us.
WOW! What a way to begin the year. I’m shortlisted in the
#Arts
&Culture category at
@UKBlogAwards
- I’m thrilled. Thanks to those who voted for me 😘

Monday: Let's talk about Book Bloggers and Blog Tours
1. Every blogger has to start somewhere. Their 'reach' will improve with every review / Blog Tour that they publish.
When you get to work, look at the date & remember it’s your wedding anniversary!!! 21 years married to
#TheBloke
@eksorsist
today and we still laugh every day ❤️❤️
I’m a 57 year old woman with inner RAGE that is tying to escape
Why??? Why do folk walk out of a shop and then STOP just outside the door and just gaze around.
Why? Why do they look surprised when I walk into them because I didn’t expect the to STOP?
I am boiling over
Lots of
#BookBloggers
blog as a hobby. They have families and/or full time jobs separate to
#BookBlogging
. This is what we do because we love books and want to shout about them. It's never going to pay the bills
Hello
#bookbloggers
I organise
#BlogTours
for publishers and authors
If you are reliable, love a good book, can ACE reviews thennid love to hear from you.
New tour hosts always welcome.
It’s been suggested that I don’t ‘value’ my books.
Here’s 2 of my best loved books. The bottom one has been on my shelf for 38 years, the other for 6 years.
I love every crease and every folded corner.
They are ME. They are part of my life ❤️
Those of us who went to
#Harrogate
are adults.
I’m tired of the bullshit that invariably follows from those who didn’t go.
Go. Don’t go. Two choices
I worked damn hard to afford it. I’m not going to apologise for having a bloody good time.
Yes, it’s a risk. But so is life
If one cannot celebrate the fact that someone sits down and reads a book, any book, then there is something dreadfully wrong. We live in a developed country where the reading age is 8 YEARS OLD. We can encourage new readers by dispelling the myth that any book is more worthy
I’m actually a bit terrified about opening today’s
#bookpost
.
Life is pretty tough here at the moment. My grateful & hugest thanks to
#publishers
#publicists
#authors
though
One day, things will get back to normal ❤️
We have waited (in pain) for 10 months. Tomorrow is the day
Finally
#TheBloke
will be gall-bladder free.
Just need to get my Mum home now.
I’m still mardy. I still love books. I will still post my photos of books.
Don’t like it? Off you pop then ..
I am tired of seeing statements such as 'don't believe the hype', 'not worth the hype' about books
Lets congratulate
#BookPublicists
on their successful campaigns instead.
There are over 10,000 books published in September, achieving 'hype' is a huge success.
6. Blog Tour reviews are NOT PAID FOR. A blogger receives a copy of the book, often an ecopy, or an uncorrected proof. That is it. No money changes hands. Bloggers are volunteers who work in a professional manner - some other sectors of the industry could learn lots from bloggers
My oldest friend has a rare & aggressive cancer. She’s 46 with a 7 year old son. I spent the afternoon with her today. Her smile is still so bright, her positivity and stoicism amazes me. Please, don’t sweat the small stuff ❤️
My weekend:
Yesterday I read a whole book in one day; 550 pages. Haven’t done that for years.
Did the ironing
Cooked a Sunday roast
Saw my parents.
Bought some shoes
😊😊
For years and years I’ve been using my old faithful red tote bag. As carry on luggage, or a night or two away. It’s been mended many times. I loved it
I’ve treated myself to a new bag I LOVE IT. I have never owned an expensive bag before. It has to last for the rest of my life
I have severe post-Harrogate blues.
I am culling lots of things this week.
Books. Social Media followers/friends - who I never interact with, or who drain me.
I need Corfu.
Dear indie authors. Bloggers are probably your best friends. Your biggest promoters.
DO NOT dictate to them.
DO NOT tell them not to promote bigger authors.
You WILL be added to our ‘avoid at all costs’ list.
Thanks. Happy Friday
So many people slate Social Media, especially Twitter. Today the people of Twitter have been my saviours and so so kind. It's been a tough week, from feeling bruised and bashed yesterday, to a wedding anniversary and overwhelming feelings of grief today. Thank you for your love x
This beautiful octopus brooch arrived through my letterbox today.
I don’t know where or who it came from but is is gorgeous and I love it.
Thank you 💚💚
