6/8 Consultation with peers or editors along with reference to guidelines are helpful in producing a new story which is informative and prevents suicide: how can we tell the truth without being too vague or too detailed (instead of explicit methods ➡️ nonjudgmental language)

3/8 In reporting suicide news, media guidelines across the world recommend the minimisation of details of the method/s of suicide or self harm as they may be imitated by someone vulnerable. The mechanism is thought to be through social learning.
