After 14+ years @Microsoft, I have moved to @Oracle. I am spearheading Java in Education strategy. It’s a monumental role change and will incent me to learn new stuff. I have all the feels about that, from major excitement to sheer terror. And I couldn’t be happier. (1/4).

Java 22 is being released March 19th! Consider attending the Exploring Java Programming after Java Version 8 workshop at SIGCSE. The workshop is being held Friday, March 22nd.

100% this. A portfolio of visible activities enormously increases your chances of getting through to interview stage, and even being discovered in the first place. You don't have to be everywhere, pick something that works for you.
