A burst water pipe is causing flooding on Mitcham Rd between Valnay St & Franciscan Road. The road is currently open to traffic, but there is no pedestrian access on the north east pavement. Please check this post for updates. @thameswater – when will this be fixed please?

This is a beautiful, incredibly powerful piece by Rachel Stirling about her mother, Diana Rigg, dying, and wanting to end her own life. Rigg recorded herself talking, and Rachel finally managed to listen to the tapes, and shared them here. Two queens:

Rachael Stirling reflects on her mother’s final months – and listens back to the recordings the actor made then, racked with pain, as a passionate advocate of assisted dying

Wag the Dog is a brilliant, funny movie, with dialogue you want to stand up and clap. But is it a devastating insight into political manipulation or...something slightly less helpful? Thoughts in this morning’s @thetimes

I can scarcely imagine the grief of parents whose baby dies of a rare genetic condition. Andrew conveys it movingly and points to charities in the field that deserve support. Deep sympathies to Rycroft’s family.
Our baby boy Rycroft died at Great Ormond Street last month. The thread that follows is a little bit about who he was, and how you can help other children like him. We would love any help you can give to get Rycroft's story to as many people as possible ❤️

STOP. THINK. CHECK THE FACTS. This headline in @thetimes today refers to a study of the OLD COMBINED HRT PILLS with synthetic progestins. THE NEW TRANSDERMAL HRT is showing the opposite - a 73% DECREASE in dementia among users in another much larger study in America.
