Implementation science at @BrownUniversity is possible because of highly successful colleagues who brilliantly incorporate #impsci frameworks, methods, study designs into their research; our visionary leaders; and our growing #BRIDGE team. I’m so thankful for them all! 1/2
In just over a year, our implementation science core led by Dr. @ranielwy has grown from a one-person operation into a team of 11 affiliated researchers, now known as the BRIDGE program. Learn how #ImpSci has taken off at Brown: https://t.co/Z8LJFHwj0L

I've been silent for a while, but am breaking my X / Twitter silence to share that, effective July 1, 2024, I'll be a full Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care @Penn! It's gonna be glitter eyeshadow and a fierce winged eye every day from now on. Unless I'm tired.

These are wonderful. Plus: I will make space for jr colleagues in leadership roles that will advance their careers. I will not say: "You aren't quite ready yet" "You have lots of time ahead of you" Or: "They are still too junior for that role "

How can we combat the spread of misinformation in health? Deploy consequential protective knowledge using capsulizing language and a trusted source to reach people in need. Consider the knowledge needed, the language used, and the intended audience.
Interesting thought from Kathleen Hall Jamieson of @AnnenbergPenn - using the term "mRNA" obscures meaning and creates an opening for misinformation. Maybe we should say "messenger RNA", which then invites the hearer to ask, "What is the message"? #DIScience22

What makes this messaging effective? Dr. Jamieson notes: 1) the use of succinct language that is easy to understand 2) using visuals that represent the encouraged behavior and delivers the message via a trusted source in the community.
Love it when my worlds collide! @FlorenciaPolite as an example of effective messaging cited by Kathleen Hall Jamieson of @AnnenbergPenn in her #DIScience22 keynote! Strong work, @PennMedicine
