Just finished Asunder by Kerstin Hall and it IS as haunting & tense & beautiful as the blurbs say, but also consider that it: .- is a fantasy road trip novel .- has companions as well-written as any Dragon Age instalment .- has dead gods, living gods, & giant spiders.

@djdaisyjohnson @JuliaArmfield @FancyEliza Talking monstrosity: is it possible to write horror and monsters and not grapple with what came before?. A: fear is a regressive emotion so it's difficult to avoid falling into old tropes; but also there's value to reimagining and revisiting it from different povs and settings.
