You can say I'm cynical, but I've given up on people's ability to think. Humans are fundamentally irrational beings.

I think the number of people who find this difficult is entirely expected. Just spend some time in the comment section on any news story and you'll see that a lot of people have very poor reading comprehension, let alone critical reasoning ability.
