It always briefly confuses me when people say Stardew Valley is a "calm, cozy" game but then I remember not everyone plays it like a minmax psychopath.
My guide is OPEN my key pages are TABBED my seasonal to-do list is POPPING. I am LOCKED TF IN!!!
I don't want to hear a single word about 'cancel culture' in esports ever again after seeing the way most of the VALORANT community has welcomed S*natraa back with open arms.
It's disheartening. It's infuriating. It's disgusting.
I can finally share my fave interaction in
#Overwatch2
thus far.
Orisa: I see you glancing at me. You wish to ride me into battle?
Hanzo: I, uh. What a preposterous thought!!
Orisa: Do not lie, archer. It is beneath you.
MA'AM???
My favorite ways to "fix" or answer these glaring issues:
- Make Kiriko 28. Ages line up.
- Change the "2" to a "3"; Kiriko is now 31, works great.
- Hear me out (I'm sick and sleep deprived): the Hashimotos murdered her and now she's forever 21, possessed by the kitsune
When they ask to borrow your homework and you say "just don't copy it exact--" but they already hit CTRL + C
MY DEVS IN CHRIST THIS IS JUST HANAMURA
Y'ALL DIDN'T EVEN CHANGE THE BUILDING SHAPE LMFAO
The response to Overwatch's cowboy name change tells me that folks still don't understand why it matters.
Team 4, which creates OW, has ZERO power to change what the big head honchos at ActiBlizz need to address and fix, but they're doing what they can in this moment. (thread)
Looks like a good chunk of the Overwatch 2 team got hit today, so I'll say it: I'm looking at you, Overwatch fans.
If I see some "Why is there not more [thing]" nonsense in June I'll be replying BECAUSE THEY FIRED THEM in all caps
I'm really upset and will probably regret saying this but when games - especially live service ones - are markedly worse this year, I better not see one damn "wah wah devs are bad they don't care."
I better see that anger directed upwards.
For people wondering why I star out the name - his supporters love to search his name in Twitter, find accounts speaking out, and send you death threats in your dms
You think this is my first rodeo? Lmao
I find the implication that "woke teachers" will "encourage" children to join the LGBTQ+ mafia to be one of the more ridiculous stances out there.
As a former preschool teacher, I could barely get your kid to stop eating woodchips, and you think I can make them GAY?
Hear me out: maybe you're safe from this sack of shit if you're not a garbage human being to players and staff you're supposed to care about.
If you're worried about that getting out...maybe stop doing it. Wild solution here.
Parts of the Overwatch community are fucking nuts, man. Y'all will refer to someone as BootyBopper69 religiously when their real legal name is Jim but you draw the line at using they/them pronouns for Venture?
Do you hear yourself when you talk?
Overwatch ranked can sometimes be a horrible, toxic minefield, but sometimes it's wholesome.
A whole team full of people in ranked sang happy birthday to
@jakeow
. This is the cutest shit I've ever seen. ;_;
I'm baffled and heartbroken today.
How are you going to announce a new chapter of Overwatch esports...then fire most of the people who could have authored it?
Not only that, the people they fired wrote the first dozen books and get...nothing. Infuriating.
I've been here since before the start of OWL. I've witnessed every scandal. Watched the Vancouver Titans fumble the Runaway bag, documented the LA Valiant's downfall from beloved to "whatever. China?"
Nobody has demolished fan goodwill like the Houston Outlaws this weekend.
I was really psyched for the ranked reset and was absolutely convinced placements could save me from Silver but I forgot that no patch can fix stupid and this is unfortunately a team game. I crave an arrow to the optical nerve.
Say it with me, DPS players:
If I lock Ana, that doesn't mean I want a Genji.
If I lock Ana, that doesn't mean I want a Genji.
If I lock Ana, that doesn't mean I want a Genji.
IF I LOCK ANA. THAT DOESN'T MEAN. I WANT. A GENJI.
I, for one, am truly shocked that of any Overwatch streamers, it's "eight inches of hackusations" Kephrii and Gale "n-word pass" Adelade causing trouble. Out of nowhere, really.
In a $100k CSGO tournament two players Kephrii and Gale are being accused of teaming and feeding knife kills to the other. This tournament is unique in that prize money is awarded to individual players based on points.
1 kill = 1 point
1 knife kill = 5 points
After winning a tournament with a team she built,
@FRANA_OW
is being flamed by parts of the Overwatch community. She refuses to be the scapegoat; so do we. My piece on how this treatment reflects the experience of women in

BREAKING: New York Excelsior is reportedly attempting to build a team made of marginalized genders for the 2023 Overwatch League season. While well-intentioned, sources say it will end in disaster.
I know a lot of people (including myself) have complaints about Overwatch, but you know who never misses? The skin team.
All of these skins are INSANE, dude
Dear 2021 Overwatch League teams,
Please hire a photographer and get pictures of your players during matches, even if it's just in the practice facility.
Signed, someone tired of using the same, like, 2 pictures for roster announcements.
A lot of people asked for specific OW2 screenshots in the AMA so I thought I'd throw them in a thread for everyone instead!
Here's the career profile. I will doxx how much I play Hanzo, whatever. It's so pretty though, name cards OP.
A new era begins.

Might be a hot take but I wish they had a very small (playing 5-10 games of QP, maybe) restriction on EVERYONE before playing Overwatch 2 competitive.
The amount of people I've had who queue up then go "what did they do to Rein?" or "where's Doomfist?" is TOO MANY
You cannot possibly sit there confused about how widespread assault goes on at companies like ActiBlizz and esports orgs while thinking this is somehow a victory.
Do you NOW see how powerful men "got away with it" for so long? Because it's acceptable.
Multiple sources have confirmed to me that the New York Excelsior is going forward with its plan to recruit a roster of marginalized-gender players despite community protests, though the roster will now likely be mixed since they've exhausted other options.
In honor of Mickie moving to a content creation role, please take this clip of
@DallasFuel
's absolute best player cams. I am in hysterics every time I watch this clip. He brings so much joy to the team.
Did you know that Bastion is only allowed to have a relatively small number of hat designs (under 40!) in rotation to make it easier on the animation team?
Search "bastion rule 34" to find out more!

will be a huge change.
- SR will no longer be a numerical value. You'll have sub-tiers inside of tiers (rank 2 Gold, etc.)
- You'll receive after-match reports to help improve your gameplay and match history will be much more expansive.
If we renamed Overwatch League teams as the only players they have signed right now, we'd have:
- Toronto Heesus
- San Francisco Viol2ts
- Florida Yakis
- Houston Piggies
Remember that this message comes straight from Team 4, a group of developers trying to do better in a situation that management is handling extremely poorly.
It's the right step. And a necessary one. Good work.
@charlieINTEL
Due to recent events, we have removed the “NICKMERCS Operator” bundle from the Modern Warfare II and Warzone store. We are focused on celebrating PRIDE with our employees and our community.
If you're a man in the esports community wondering what you can do during this absolute disaster, this is a good primer. Stand up for what you know is right even if your bros say otherwise.
I don't care how many friends/colleagues I have to cross to get this point across. Being good at videos games doesn't give you a pass to be a sexual abuser.
I hate that there's a future where he gets to be a superstar again with 0 consequences because people in the industry will feel pressured to not mention the controversy OR will be harassed, like I often am, by "innocent until proven guilty" randys who think they have law degrees
The unintentional bonus of the OW Pride event is we hopefully get rid of both the "this is clearly a way to distract from PvE" people AND the "I won't play this woke-ass agenda game" people
Bye!!!
Everyone's posting their emotional memories of super and all that's stuck in my head is the time I was sitting in an interview room hyperventilating because I was about to talk to Moth, freaking out, when I hear super yell down the hallway "I'M SO FUCKING GOOD AT 2-2-2"
Nobody does it like
@Soembie
. Nobody. I could work a hundred hours and not pen a better send-off than this.
I love you, Overwatch League.
Thanks for loving me back.
Have a hot tip and maybe a hot take for ranked Overwatch:
If you're below Plat, stop hard flanking.
It's not going to work. You are not going to kill anyone if you're in fucking Narnia. Just because OWL does it doesn't mean you can. Stay. With. The. Team.
Today I learned there are still people out there who think Push is worse than 2cp and, respectfully, where can I get what you guys are smoking? Do you not remember 18cp Drawnamura? Am I losing my mind???
I need all players to do interviews like Eskay.
"We're just cooler."
"The matches are our warm-ups."
"We were just vibing out. Dart Monkey gaming."
OWL boys, take notes. Please.
#CallingAllHeroes
Seeing a lot of comments asking why all this OW2 info was dropped today ("fighting" with CoD info) so this is a good time as any for my sleep-deprived brain to have a rant about leakers.
Leakers make people's lives harder for fake internet clout.
🧵
Can't wait for someone who didn't follow the offseason at all to tune in to OWL this year.
"The Seoul WHAT?
The WHOM Eternal?
WAIT, WHO'S ON BOSTON?????"
I know I'll likely lose followers for this, but I have to say it because the loss of OWL finals has done it for me.
If you've chosen to be unvaccinated in the US, with no medical/legit reason, I have no patience or grace left for you. This? This is your fault.
Employees fought for this name change. Employees that didn't want to have to build around, design around, or hear the name of a known abuser. Employees that wanted to make change when the "big guys" wouldn't. (See: this)
I'll be brutally honest today:
I'm never closer to leaving esports than I am after seeing legions of people congratulate an abuser for being "allowed" to return.
No hateful comment screams "we don't want you here" louder than that does.
Bren & I currently do not have an agreement for 2022 with Overwatch League, marking the end of our four years as broadcast talent. We wish the league and our colleagues the best of luck for OW2.
Frosk said it best. Say something. Do SOMETHING.
This is mostly at men in the public arena, by the way. We know there's a bro code out there and it's up to you - YES YOU - to refuse to put up with this garbage.
It's actually hilarious seeing some of the braindead comments in Overwatch dev streams.
"Ban LGBTQ+!"
My gamer in christ, the Tracer you lock every game and go 2-4-24 on in ranked is GAY AS HELL idk where you are
I hate dunking on my own esport but it is the most OWL thing in the entire world to have the stream die just as the extremely hype first round of the first game of the first day happens.
According to
@Spex_J
, one of the bugs they had to address in the
#Overwatch2
alpha was Winston being "too wide" to fit through a door in Circuit Royal.
WIDE MONKE
I've also seen it suggested that fans not play Activision Blizzard games (WoW, OW, Hearthstone, CoD, etc.) tomorrow to send a message.
I'll be joining them and I encourage all content creators I know to play (and broadcast) something else tomorrow.
#ActiBlizzWalkout
When you say shit like "name change doesn't make us forget the sexual harassment lawsuit lol" do you think the rank-and-file developers of OW, who had a front seat for the trash the admin did, feel like that helps them?
They didn't forget. That's why they CHANGED HIS NAME.
Sue me but I still find the googly eyes in Overwatch on April Fool's Day hilarious. Especially the ones on Hanzo's dragons. It's been three years and I still lose my shit
"Put that game away if it makes you mad" I tell my mom, swearing at Candy Crush, as I immediately walk in the other room to play Overwatch ranked.
I'm not a good role model.
Shout out to the Overwatch skin designers tbh. This year has obviously been a drought for new content but they keep churning out slam dunks every single event and it's so impressive.
I feel this about Overwatch all the time.
If you hate everything about it, if everything you say is a negative, if you spend all your time screaming about it on social media...don't play it. Literally just don't. Nobody is making you. Play something else.
I so sincerely wish people felt more comfortable quitting things they don’t like.
Hate Destiny 2? Can’t believe Blizz wants you to make a new Diablo 4 character every season?
Quit! Just quit. Do something you enjoy!
Because the endless negative discourse is fucking exhausting
VCT - which has an all-female desk right now - has emote-only enabled on Twitch chat, which it didn't yesterday. You use this to deter trash and make modding easier.
Yeah, I'm absolutely sure these two things aren't related. 🙃
My favorite Overwatch 2 bug so far is
@jakeow
managing to get onto EU servers...but it thinks he's a new player so he only has the 13 starter heroes and the new trio.
Competitive mode NG+
Because in the meantime, women in esports will have to add another org to the endless, ongoing mental list of things that maybe don't want us around. We add more players who support this, more public figures who support him.
The list never, ever stops. It's so sad.
BREAKING: The Overwatch League will reduce its age restriction to 17 (down from 18) for the 2023 season. Not a huge change for established players, but opens up a whole group of Contenders talent for teams to pick from.
