Chris Banks points to the challenge that data sharing takes time, but isn't the larger issue that it isn't planned for and managed properly early in the research process, i.e. improving data management key? #ALPSP2023.

There's something interesting in here about measuring author-led (i.e. community) progress WRT to open science practices versus what impact a publisher or funder makes with policy: I can see that open science indicators could help demonstrate both to inform progress #alpsp2023.

So inspired to hear the really action-orientated commitments coming out of @BloomsburyAcad 's DEI work: small steps to ensure meaningful change can happen - really impressive #alpsp2023.

It's getting a bit old now but I can see how resources like VSNU/Springer Nature's societal impact toolkit, helping researchers understand how to collect and maximize that impact, will become even more valuable #alpsp2023.

related question for me is how are institutions managing training for researchers in what they need to be doing WRT assessment, right from start of the process: again ties up so clearly with open research practices and we know there are big knowledge gaps here #alpsp2023.

I strongly recall hearing a librarian at.@digitalsci.'s 5:AM conference talking about the librarian role in supporting these more qualitative evaluation assessments for their institution: I'd love to hear how institutional support for evaluation is evolving #alpsp2023.

Encouraging to see the shift in criteria for REF 2028, particularly evidence for wider engagement and broader range of outputs. There is an inevitable knock-on effect in the effort needed, but will this help push forwards researcher participation in open research? #alpsp2023.
