After 5 wonderful years at Queen Anne HS as a Modern Studies teacher, I'm looking forward to my next steps starting as PT of Guidance at Levenmouth in August. Last few days packing up my classroom and saying goodbye to a wonderful bunch of colleagues and pupils!

Teaching voting behaviour to my Higher class and we were discussing impact of age...asked them to write down anonymously whether they intend to vote or not and their reasons, results are VERY interesting.

The workload associated with the assignment is a lot especially after just finishing marking prelims and writing reports. Then we've got the rush to finish the course before the Easter holidays, my head is BURST.

Today I taught all 6 periods, had a break time detention, AND ran a training session for probationers at lunch, on the second last day of term!!! AND I didn’t cry. AND I made it to the bathroom twice. 🤩

I’ve added “do now” tasks into my entry routine for my S2 classes to help facilitate a more settled and organised start, especially after some peer issues have led to disruption. Still some not quite getting it but overall I’m noticing a much more calm atmosphere.
