i absolutely hate when bylers & milevens argue over rink o mania because i hoenstly loved it so much . they were all mad at eachother over different tings & all horribly miscommunicating it & it was verry entertaining to me

so two characters in dawsons creek (a show we know the st writers love and have included nods to before) has two characters who go to a gay bar with these blue and yellow lights behind them, and for s4 they deliberately built those same lights into rink-o-mania? 👀

a basic misunderstanding of the concept here. chekhov's gun is not "everything has to be foreshadowed". it's "if you're introducing a story element make sure it serves a purpose"
Writers need to realize how stupid Chekhov's Gun is. Stories would have much more surprising twists if the gun was never shown at all and then in the final act Chekhov was like "well you're no match for my SECRET GUN" and started shooting a guy with his secret gun
