Another day another GenJam workshop! Today at the Rideback Ranch with a group of amazing film and TV professionals. In just 3 hrs, they all learned a set of new tools and made 16 films! So many great stories and laughs.

Going viral has reminded me to be a bit more careful with words because twitter will tear you to shreds. But also a nice test of my self esteem and sense of self. I think even a version of myself a few years ago would be offended, hurt, or angry about the comments I’m getting.

At 300+ Likes, it was mostly friends and the AI filmmaking community supporting this tweet. Once I hit around 500+ Likes it brought out all the detractors who apparently couldn't hate me more. It only inspires me to make even more content, both AI and not.

One of the biggest mistakes anti-AI folks make is thinking that AI films, art, storytelling, etc. does not have a human behind it actually learning and doing a craft that requires thought, taste, and practice to pull off. The pro-AI crowd makes the mistake of assuming it will.

It’s interesting to think this is true for devs but likely not true at all for people in AI storytelling because the output is more content they can iterate on. Quizzical on how we could judge the quality of those stories though. But that’s hard to judge, in the first place.
This was very interesting. basically there was a study about the effect of AI coding tools on developer productivity. The self assessed productivity gain was +20%, the observed productivity impact was -19%.
