Update on the Issue Regarding SEVENTEEN Member MINGYU Read:

But he never addressed any jokes to a specific person. However, he apologized to OP because his actions caused them discomfort. The official statement was disclosed to OP beforehand. OP expressed that they do not wish for MG to leave the group or halt activities. +

OP (with the therapy records from MG's academy) resolved all issues with MG. They simply wanted to bring up what happened to them at the time when they were both in middle school. MG did admit that he did joke around with the boys at the time. +

pledis also said this is not resolved and emphasized that in these cases you need to put the victim's perspective FIRST.

would like to emphasize this part of the statement, since they have spoken up about their discomfort abt being involved in this please listen to them and do not overstep the boundaries of being a fan and romanticize/overanalyze their relationship further.

Just to add, the autistic classmate is doing well. They feel burdened that what happened to them in the past was exposed in a manner they did not like without their consent. But they still took the time to confirm that the member isn't at fault.

and just because the student mentioned they had a good relationship with mg does not mean you should be bringing up past instances of him treating them well to invalidate any of the other allegations

just a reminder that the only thing that was clarified as of right now was that he did NOT bully a disabled student. they are still looking into the other allegations (presumably of the targeted harassment, details in our pinned)

Pledis is still working to gather information and evidence against the claims. However, the accusations against the member regarding the autistic classmate are false. They got in contact with the classmate's mother and she confirmed that the two got along rather well. +

Some facts: 1) MG didn’t direct that”sexual comment” to Op or anyone in particular. OP said he made dirty jokes with his friends. 2) OP’s mental issues are not caused entirely by MG’s actions. She specifically said that she only mentioned him briefly in her therapy sessions.
