Mamdani’s body language and facial expressions were polite but not chummy. At no point did he flatter or grovel. He didn’t concede anything to Trump or give him a friendly photo op. A very impressive performance.
I suspect that there will be a lot of questions about whether Mamdani appears too buddy-buddy with Trump given that Trump is responsible for so much suffering in this country and around the world. It's a fair question. Here's what I'd say:
