Making connections can be challenging, especially for those of us who crave meaningful conversations beyond 'small talk'. This is a great list of conversation starters + alternatives to the typically vague, "How was your day?" @SeattleTimes @smaemccullough

Absolutely! Providing accessible options for our learners is communication. We're communicating that each learner is valuable. We anticipated the needs of each learner. "We're glad you're here." Wouldn't that be a great environment in which to learn? #UDLchat.

Great question! Yes, sometimes a skill or competency requires a specific form of action or expression to complete. That's real! #UDL asks us to create options around that skill or competency — options for construct-irrelevant components of the lesson or assessment. #UDLchat.
@min_d_j I do want to ask a question. In the CTE world, how do instructors offer multiple means of action and expression? Often, a very specific skill has to be demonstrated.

Q1: I've often said that you can have #accessibility without Universal Design for Learning, but you can't have #UDL without accessibility. Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not? #UDLchat #a11y.

Really interesting opinion by Evelyn Clark in the @nytimes with an excellent question at its heart: "How do we encourage A.D.A. compliance without burdening the disability community with the unenviable task of litigation?" @NYTimesOpEd #disability #ada.
