For the record, since people keep doing this: What am I expecting from people when I create these receipt threads? Adjustments to your networks or gathering your friend/acquaintance. None of that involves any kind of harassment.

Coding is a skill. A skill many people can learn and make a living from. Doing it for a paycheck is perfectly acceptable and not uncommon. Donโ€™t believe the passion lie that makes itโ€™s rounds for engagement every so often on here.

Not the โ€œdeploy on Fridayโ€ debate again ๐Ÿ™„ You know whatโ€™s a major red flag? Assuming you know more about software projects than the people actually working on them.

Real and raw women in tech twitter space conversation would be epic. The most common reasons why women leave their tech jobs include weak management support (23%), lack of opportunity (20%), and lack of work-life balance (22%) (Capital One, 2019).

It's that benefit of the doubt again. The assumption of good intent. Literally no one should accept what was said or the stale, completely vapid apologies that followed.

This is not just about offensive language - the underlying beliefs being expressed here are repugnant and untrue. It's genuinely terrifying to me that he cannot explicitly and unequivocally denounce every aspect of these beliefs, even today.

Don't get me started on the people posting the "apologies" either. When somebody shows you who they are...

That dude is something else. Slinging the hard R and "lower IQ" talking points, but is totally not a racist. Sure, buddy. We should believe that. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I like this. And while you're at it, make sure you're actually managing your network. Don't work with\for people who don't hire women.

New challenge: ask your man friends who are software engineers how many women engineers are on the teams in his working organization.
