Watercolour study of the Oxfordshire Common Nighthawk. Without a doubt the bird of the autumn so far, but still plenty of time left. Might do a few prints if anyone is interested!

Not a surprise that the Caspian Tern at Holme Pierrepont on Saturday didn’t hang around for long, got some grief from the local Common Terns. @NottsBirders

A bit gutted to have missed the Caspian Tern at Kilvington on Friday, so very happy to see it last night at Holme Pierrepont. 2nd one I’ve seen in my home 5km radius in the past 3 years!.@NottsBirders

Cool to see this ‘Bling’ Ouzel in the Peak District recently, a 2CY male back for his first breeding season. Seems like he’s got the hang of fatherhood, having already fledged some young when we visited. Hopefully the first of many! Thanks to @kimleyland for the info.

Male Ring Ouzel in the Peak District yesterday with @samgod96, a bird I look forward to seeing up in the peaks every year (pic taken from a main path well away from the already-fledged chicks).
