Oddly enough: patience. People get so frustrated when the robot makes a mistake that they throw away the whole concept. Patience to start over on a branch that went in the wrong direction, patience to learn how to work with these weird new tools.

The book "Masters of Doom" is a great story about these nerds and their revolutionary streak of games. I've listened to the audiobook three times.
It's DOOM’s 32nd birthday today! It amazes me how far this rebellion of a game has travelled. We wanted to build the the greatest game we could imagine playing, and generations of players have kept it alive. It’s one of the great privileges of my life.

I’ve been scoffing at the “you’re a senior engineer” instructions because why wouldn’t they already be RL tought to be? But this makes me question that. I’m reminded of @kieranklaassen‘s “DHH reviewer”.

My mind is also starting to shift towards this. Both because of increased belief in human ingenuity and because of decreased belief in human ability to downgrade comfort expectations. Degradable plastic, lab meat, carbon removal tech. It'll work out. I hope it will. It has to.
More and more I'm starting to believe every major issue we caused has a solution to it once we actually start to get close to it becoming a massive problem. Refreshing way to not be a doomer.
