@selfawarestudio There’s so much in this world to be mad at and this griffin (WHICH IS THE ORIGINAL LOGO OF THE MUSEUM) is not worth all of this hate. It’s doesn’t look like nazi propaganda you’re just mad at anything that changes. Life goes on, logos come and go, keep on keepin on.

The folks @selfawarestudio poured their hearts into making an unbelievably beautiful and modern site. And they are PHILLY PEOPLE representing our city on a global scale. The fact that people love to get mad at rebrands these days just feels so sad and tired.

I gotta break character for a sec. I really appreciate everyone tagging us in this @visitpham rebrand discourse but the outrage for their new logo is absolutely absurd. It’s a great brand made by a great agency. To get anything remotely cool approved was prob a major feat.

The main thing we were actually hired to do was strategy. We went all in on ONE line... Get more creative. It felt absolutely perfect for what they were doing over there. Supporting the creative community AND helping teams grow their creative depts. Win win.

We started by just updating the symbol and wordmark everrrrr-so-slightly so it could be a little more screen friendly. We put a lot of love into that "a". We also introduced GT Standard as an inter replacement. We just loved that the lowercase a's matched the wordmark.

Earlier this year we got a call from @contra asking if we'd help out with their visual identity. We were like, "Your brand is pretty dope as is. I don't think you need us." Once we talked to @_BenHQ & @erinnhorner I was hooked. I needed to be a part of this. So we got to work.
