I wonder what percentage of users actually switch to the “Following” timeline. “For You” introduces dissenting views (healthy sometimes, engagement farming many times), and is the default setting, but “Following” is the curation you signed up for.

Another reason this will take off is the built-in biometric for headsets like the Vision Pro. In theory, as soon as you land on a site with the headset, a quick retinal scan could log you in without you having to do anything at all.

As passkeys become more and more popular, we might need FaceID via 3rd party webcams or standalone fingerprint readers for when users don't use 1st party peripherals. 🤔

I should add that even for those with password managers, it's a huge improvement for security, and UX. Depending on the implementation, it can be even faster than auto-filling usernames and passwords.
