I'm very excited to share our work (with @emily_fogarty11 and @merenbey ) to identify thousands of plasmids in nature and to characterize their evolution and ecology, now out at @NatureMicrobiol!

I started working on this project in 2019, only months into a faculty position at @TTIC_Connect. At the time, I was trying to establish myself in a new domain, and I had a burning curiosity to explore the diversity of the microbial world. Trust your scientific instincts!.

Check out @merenbey's very nice explanation of the our results, from new algorithms to new biological principles!
I am happy to report that @michaelkuyu and @emily_fogarty11's work that adds more structure to our desire to understand naturally occurring plasmids is now online at @NatureMicrobiol 🎉.
