With Greenfoot 3.9, we have recently created a separate installer for Greenfoot on the @Raspberry_Pi again. With this, both @BlueJ_IDE and Greenfoot have dedicated Raspberry Pi versions again, and are optimised for that platform. Get it here: https://t.co/ugEEfuq5iq

Happy to say that we have completed the manuscript for the 7th edition of the “Objects First With Java” textbook! It’s taken some time, and I’m looking forward to the proofreading/production/publication!

Niklaus Wirth died earlier this month. I just found this picture – dinner with him in Aarhus, 2002 (before I had grey hair!), at the ITiCSE conference, where I had the pleasure to introduce him for his keynote. He was not only a brilliant man, but a kind, modest and gentle one.

The Red Album and the Blue Album were my door into the Beatles. My father had them, I listened to them, and today I can still hear the next song starting in my head as another finishes.
(5/6) On 10th November, The Beatles’ ‘1962-1966’ (The Red Album) and ‘1967-1970’ (The Blue Album) collections will be released in 2023 Edition packages with expanded tracklists.

Got to love Matt Damon.
Matt Damon makes a better case for academic tenure than I’ve ever heard https://t.co/2zn26RcLZm

Brilliant!
Here's what you didn't realise you needed today: a dodgy holiday 🎶 acapella version of an 80s tune, angled at the @NadineDorries story. It's called "The Never Ending Dorries" - you can guess what it's parodying (@Limahl_Official). PS: We're all still scarred by Artax's death

Oh no - Samuel Pepys is X'd. Such a shame.
‼️ After 14 years, and with 73.8K followers, this account is closing for now. Twitter keeps breaking something in the API that prevents Mr Pepys from posting. I change it back, and they break it again. Phil. ‼️ https://t.co/AR1oW2Fruq

Why do reporters ignorant of science continue to think they have to comment on science? Roll a die once, and you don't know what will come up. Roll a die 100,000 times, and we know pretty well the ratio of results. If you don't know the basics, stop commenting.
Matt goes to the heart of it. With current measurement technology and state-of-the-art computers it is still impossible to predict the weather more than a few days ahead. Yet these same people, with the same technology, think they can model long term climate change. They can't.
